Visions in blood
Last time, the party returned to Baba Lysaga’s hut, where she performed a blood ritual using the goat Avery brought her. Through the ritual, she saw a vision of a young, shaggy-haired boy with claw marks, collared in silver and chained inside a cavern. A woman was chained beside him, and nearby stood an idol of Mother Night—a wolf-headed woman surrounded by treasure and kneeling corpses. After leaving the hut, the party made their way back toward Krezk, with Caspian and Sophia taking turns tormenting Kaz and Avery by demanding to be carried. Eventually, the party reached Krezk and spoke with Baron Dimitri, who told them what he knew about the Abbey of Saint Markovia. The abbey was once a hospital and convent dedicated to the Morninglord, but it fell into ruin after the mists consumed the land. Now it is ruled by the mysterious Abbot, a man who has supposedly not aged in over a century. The villagers fear the place and no longer visit it, especially because strange bells, screams, and inhuman laughter can often be heard coming from the abbey. That evening, the party settled into an inn. Sophia returned with flowers and a piece of parchment, teasing the others about forgetting her birthday before retiring for the night. Later, Kaz carried a rather tipsy Caspian back to their room before visiting Sophia and Avery. There, Kaz embedded his dagger into the desk beside Sophia—not as a threat, but as something strange and almost magical happened. Tiny vines sprouted from the wound in the wood, ending in a small flower. With that mysterious little gesture, the party finally settled down for the night. And now, morning awaits.
